PARABENS & SLS's Whats all the fuss about?
Parabens are NOT used in Majik Blankit products.
Parabens are a group of chemicals used as preservatives found in most skin care products. There are a few parabens with different names but they all end in 'paraben' so you will know them when you see them: methyl, propyl, butyl and ethyl. They are classified bad because tests claim that they have displayed estrogenic activity meaing that they can mimic our body's hormones and in turn disrupt our own hormonal system, including male and female reproductive systems. They are also damaging to the environment when washed down the drains, harmful to other creatures and our own drinking water! These chemicals have actually been detected in 'Breast Milk' and 'Fish', not good!
SLS's are NOT used in Majik Blankit products either. SLS is Sodium Laureth Sulfate and SLES is Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate and they are cheap detergents used in almost all skin care applications, like shower and bath products, washes bubbles, shampoos, toothpaste...etc. SLS's are possibly one of the most dangerous ingredients used in skin care and is a primary skin irritant stripping your skin of oils and nourishment. Just think...this stuff used to be used as an industrial oil and grease remover, imagine what it does to your skin? Labs used it to irritate skin on test animals so that they may then test healing agents to see how effective they are on irritated skin. Especially harmful to those with Eczema, Psoriasis and other sensitive skin conditions.
